NOTE: The following is theoretical information about the biology of the creature known as the Snargle. This information based largely on my own interpretation of the available data. You may not necessarily agree with my ideas. This section concentrates on the process by which the Snargle takes over another organism.
In the example below, the intruder is the Snargle organism. The victims in this case are unsuspecting cell structures. The Snargle attacks a structure in a violent manner that causes the two organisms to join together. This allows the Snargle to grow in power and move to the next victim.
The assimilation process occurs on a cell by cell basis. The entire process may take up to 60 minutes for a complete assimilation. This depends on the size of the organism. It has also been demonstrated that rapid initial assimilation is possible, where a largely normal exterior was established was established within 10 to 15 minutes. But it takes substantially longer for the absorbtion to be complete.
STAGE ONE: MIMICRY AND ADAPTATION

Before a Snargle can successfully infiltrate a cell structure, it must adapt to its surrounding and blend in. In this case, the Snargle assumes the role of a unsuspecting holy man. The Snargle may need to consume up to seven Ice Cream Crunchies per hour in order to fuel its mimic glands.
STAGE TWO: INTRUSION AND ASSIMILATION

Upon finding a suitable host, the Snargle comes into contact and attacks the cell structure by sending out rope-like material that pierces the cell wall. The intrudee may distract the Snargle by throwing Tunnocks Caramels in the opposite direction, but the creature is rarely sated.
STAGE THREE: SECOND-GENERATION SNARGLE CREATION

The DNA replacement phase occurs, and the intruder replaces the DNA of its prey with its own. At the end of the process, the Snargle will contain host DNA that is also encoded with its own genetic material. The urge to visit a burger wagon and pile on as much relish, onions and cheese as humanly possible will override any other functions or desires the host may have.
STAGE FOUR: SECOND INTRUSION AND ASSIMILATION

The second-generation Snargle is now stronger, and can begin to search for further prey with ease, shunning the previous method of hunting for a more direct and aggressive approach.

Conflict during the second assimilation stage is not unheard of, but ultimately, the Snargle will overpower its prey and begin a secondary DNA replacement phase.
STAGE FIVE: THIRD-GENERATION SNARGLE CREATION

The Snargle is now three times as strong as before, with new abilities including extradordinary miming skills. The process continues until the Snargle is either satisfied, which is extremely rare, or until it wears itself out, in which case it returns to Ballywalter for a six-pack of twixes.
