The Financial Times leads this morning with Starbucks’s victory in a landmark lawsuit in China against a local rival that had adopted its Chinese name and a similar logo. The Shanghai court ordered the Chinese company to stop using its name, pay a fine, and issue a public apology. Starbucks already has 140 outposts in […]

Does Google’s $1.65 billion acquisition of YouTube create a big, deep-pocketed target for aggrieved copyright owners? While much of YouTube’s content is home-shot video, the site also contains copyrighted material that users upload without permission, and some legal commentators say Google could be exposing itself to copyright liability. YouTube, for its part, says it removes […]

With this morning’s airing of the GMA interview in which Mel Gibson explained to Diane Sawyer how his addiction to devil’s nectar renders him utterly defenseless to the basest impulses of his dark subconscious (except where his personal mugshot grooming regimen is concerned), focus returns once again to the world’s most famous sugartit-leery, Jewish-warmongering whistleblower. […]

Bono gave me a good laugh this morning, you see this weekend brought the iPod (red) which was so obviously going to happen that there was no need for a product launch. Steve jobs love his lucky little leprechaun.
I knew the basics of the (red) project, and I also knew how Bono loves his Africa. […]

Im not the biggest fan of pop. But a good tune is a good tune.

I’ve never played Halo, or owned an X-Box, so the hype surrounding the upcoming movie apdaptation completely passes me by. In fact, it sounds like a big old overblown and overcooked mess, but not in a cool way like, say, Dune. More like that snausage Jordan par-boiled on the beach in Portstewart.
But news that 20th […]

Harrison Ford has recently stated that he could “bring the same physical action” if George ‘beginning to look like Chewbacca’ Lucas and Steven Speilberg ever get off their arses and make the forth Indiana Jones film. Fair fucks to him, I believe it. I recently seen ‘Firewall’, his latest film, and while it was shit, Harrison […]
