Two Southern frat boys featured in one of the movie’s most cringe-larious scenes have filed a lawsuit in California against the film’s producers, including 20th Century Fox. The plaintiffs — who make some racist and misogynistic on-camera remarks — are listed as “John Doe 1″ and “John Doe 2″ so as “to avoid any additional and unnecessary embarrassment.” Among other things, they allege “negligent infliction of emotional stress” and “loss of reputation.”
Before you roll your eyes in disgust, there’s one detail that elicits some sympathy for the plaintiffs. They say that the film’s producers took them to a bar before the scene to get them “loosened up” and then fed them more booze in the RV where the scene took place. The catch? One of the defendants, according to the lawsuit, was under 21 at the time. Messrs. Doe “engaged in behavior that they otherwise would not have engaged in,” says the lawsuit.
