Colin, do we have to carry the three amigos chat through every post!
YES! the three amigos was a great movie, written by Lorne Michaels the producer of SNL it was born for greatness. The whole SNL cast was there including Chevy Chase as Dusty Bottoms.
Rosita: I was thinking later, you could kiss me on the veranda.
Dusty Bottoms: Lips would be fine.
How dare you belittle The Three Amigos! True, Three Fugitives is a classic, if only because it gave us Martin Short in drag, but El Guapo has to be one of the all-time greatest bad guys!
“WHAT IS HAPPENING TODAY? IS AMIGOS FALLING FROM THE SKY?”
“Yes, El Guapo.”
I wonder if Martin Short holds the record for appearing in movies with the word ‘Three’ in them? Three Amigos, Three Fugitives, Santa Clause Three…if only he’d played Steve Guttenburg’s character in Three Men and a Baby/Little Lady, he’d be flying!
From the all knowing Wikipedia
“….Short is the youngest of five children. He is Roman Catholic, and of Irish descent, but often incorrectly identified as Jewish.[1] His brother, Michael Short, is a comedy writer and a two-time Emmy Award winner. His brother Brian is vice president of Dover Industries in Canada, and his sister Nora is an anesthesiologist.
His father was Charles Short, an executive with Canada’s largest steel company, who came to North America as a stowaway Roman Catholic refugee from Belfast, Northern Ireland during the Troubles at age 21. His mother, Olive, a former child prodigy of the violin, was concertmaster of the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra. She was the first female concertmaster in North America. A cousin, Clare Short, is a member of the British Parliament.”

Three Fugitives was a great film, far better than Three Amigos. The plot was better thought out, the acting was of a higher standard and the comedy less mishap and more intelligent.
