Joseph Barbera, one half of the team that created The Flintstones, Top Cat, Hong Kong Fooey, Scooby-Doo, The Jetsons, Yogi Bear, Wacky Races and loads more, has died aged 95. Hanna Barbera were responsible for my all-time favourite cartoon, Tom and Jerry, so here’s to ya, Joseph. I wonder if he’s climbing up that big escalator to the pearly gates like Tom did when he temporarily died by getting mangled by a sledgehammer…

“It’s a legacy that he has that has touched people around the world with what I call magic, they just kept producing one great show after another,” said actor Casey Kasem, the voice of Shaggy, Scooby-Doo’s unkempt sidekick.
