I love tea and must confess to being a Nambarrie man through and through. Earlier though I read at BusinessEye that Nambarrie’s great tea rival Punjana had launched a new site with Belfast company StreamOn. I went along to check it out after reading that the site had won the recent Belfast Business Awards, Best Site Award. The site was OK considering they only sell tea bags but overall I didn’t feel it was that sticky. This got me thinking though, how do you make a single issue or relatively boring company seem interesting online? A difficult job but then I guess its horses for courses - anyone going to the Punjana site is after punjana tea anyway and they dont need much persuading. I would be really interested in finding out though if the the extras that StreamOn developed such as including the old TV adverts have actually contributed anything to sales. For example, will this site sell anymore than Barry’s Tea, a less polished site? I’ll bet that no-one is StreamOn or Punjana knows the answer to that but they probably don’t care that much either.

Anyway I’ll leave you with a tip - a nice Belfast based company selling delicious tea online. Suki Tea
