The power of blogging

You might have seen on the news this morning that the awful poo lady AKA Dr Ms Gillian McKeith has “agreed” (read - before she was made to do so by the ASA) to stop using the Doctor title in advertising for her multimillion pound “health” empire. Excellent news by all accounts - but interestingly this has come about after concerted pressure from blogger, doctor and guardian journalist Ben Goldacre over at BadScience.net and a complaint from one of his commenters to the Advertising Standards Authority. McKeith the head of a large rich company, who has shown she isn’t shy to go down the legal path has been brought to account by the blogging community. I can only offer my congratulations to Ben and hopefully the suggestion that we make an official complaint to the German authorities over her use of the Doctor title in her books will also succeed.

I think some comedian best put it when he stated: “Gillian McKeith says ‘we are what we eat’. So she must have eaten a miserable bitch.”
